I wanted to bike the length of England and was talking to my Irish friend Dave and he suggested the we do Ireland instead. I agreed and he set the whole thing up for us (being local).
We basically started in Dublin and circumnavigated the entire southern half of Ireland, ending in Galway and taking a train back to the start. The total length is about 500 miles. That total does not include the various ferries we needed to take across the peninsulas on the south west of the island.
I didn’t take too many photos, because I was enjoying myself. So, these aren’t up to my typical quality (sorry).
One interesting thing did happen on the trip. Dave crashed on the downhill from the southern tip of Ireland (MIzen Head). No automobiles were involved, just a pot hole on the side of the road. He ended up with a large head injury and a dislocated finger. He needed to be taken to the hospital.
But that didn’t count Dave out, he was back with me by the end of the day and we both finished the trip together.
